now, the knee area is almost finished but the arm is just a mockup reference for me... needs a lot of tweaking...

That's a fast bit of modelling. Looks pretty good so far. Decent blaster too

got any reference pics of the game so we know what the original looks like?

I like where you're going with the robotic leg and arm

cool, people actually replied :attn: ... umm to answer the question of time, aprox 8 - 10 hours up to this point. not much, as i still need to do a lot of tweaking. as far as reference pictures go, doo a google images search for: MegaMan.

I am basically trying to make my own sleeker, female version of the male character. Dont really know how it will all turn out but its a shot.

If you want a wire, please, just ask

Sorry if I'm stepping on your toes here, I just wanted to show people unfamiliar with the character a pic...

"Noob" huh? Well, if that's the case then you're doing an excellent job. Keep it up, can't wait to see more.

lol, yes noob, unless you think i should be otherwise. i have never tried to model and FINISH an actual character. as you can see, i'm trying pretty hard to do so with the little time that i am permitted between the two jobs that i have. ive been working on the head and picture should be up within the next few days. the process is slow but think i may have a good idea on what i want. heres a make-shift text version:

im shooting for something that you can look at that is instantly recognizable as "megaman" but female with a narrower chin and a helmet to accomidate (sp?) long hair out the back. the outfit is to be sleek and in mutliple colors (different characters, same base) i want a nice clean feel to the model.

with all that in mind, and it being 5 in the morning, i am off to bed. goodnight all, ill see you later.

ok, ive been working on the head and i think i have a pretty good base for the helmet to rest on. here is the low poly and then the meshsmoothed/subpatched model:

and then a view of the wires:

Actually, that looks like a very clean head and certainly very manga-esque (or at least Japanese design) in characteristic. No crits here - the conceptual idea you have for the head seems sound to me and you seem to be able to carry the concept through very nicely. Here's to at least one finished model!

P.S. "Accommodate" is the correct spelling. Most people get it wrong because of the double "c" and the double "m". We'll let you off since (a) this isn't a spelling contest and (b) 5 o clock in the morning??? I can't even spell "cat" at 5am!

P.P.S - just have to say it, but damn this is looking good. Stands a very good chance in the noob competition if you do manage to complete - its worth looking over at what the Mayans and Maxers are doing as well to see if you need to raise your game any, but this looks like a contender from where I'm sitting.

Great start to the head, it already has character and is easy to imagine it in a megaman style costume.

Are you cartoon or manga'ising it or just seeing where it goes?
