I would like to model the bird on this image, but i don't know what the name of the bird is. I searched the whole internet for exotic birds, but i can't find images of this one.

If someone finds a picture of a bird looking like this one on a website I would apriciate sharing it with me. it doesn't need to be exactly the same, but one with a very long tail would be fine.

I will continue searching one similar to this though, and i hope i will find one before february ends

The sketch wasn't done by me.

Thanks for the link Nostromo.

I've started the modeling.
I'm challenging myself not to get any triangles. So far I've got none of them

It looks like a pigeon at the moment, but remember that the feathers gives the unique look to the bird.

Looking good so far, Bullet- have you any ideas how you are going to set about tackling the feathers?

Hey Bullet! How have you been? Good progress so far, dude. Keep in mind that, for the contest, you only need to concentrate on the bird's head.

I'm interested at what you'll come up with for the feathers

Thanks cgrein for the link. It's very helpfull.

I'm fine swankymonkey. thanks. Haven't been using lightwave to much the last few months :shakehead

I know i have to cencentrate only on the head, but i will try to make the whole body ( i know this is not giving extra changes to win the challenge ) because i can't let the birds tail unmodeled

Hey bullet_evader,

Finally made it over to the lightwave sight.

You have made a great start on your bird. I think that modelling that tail is going to be interesting. I am glad that you decided to stick with it. Looking forward to watching your progress.

Good luck!

I have a question about the UV map.

On the picture i want A to be like B.

I know how to do that in photoshop. But how am i doing this in lightwave?

How can i mirror the selection without moving the points 1 by 1?
