I'm certain that David Mitchell keeps his LW updated so he must have 8.5.

As for placing what version of LW is used i think you should send a PM to David. Not sure if he will reply as he is busy (He just finished the new DVD system over at SimplyMaya.com). And i don't know which project he is working on now...

Also, don't forget that you can set the Lightwave menus to match that of a previous version by using the menu presets.

Also, the important thing to take away from any tutorial is not simply which tools are where - after all, that's what the online help and manuals are for - the main thing is to learn the techniques that are being used and think how you can then apply them to your own projects.

I always use the current version. So yes,.. 8.5 for the Caveman series. I generally include that kind of info in a readme file with the tutorial. I'll pass your suggestions on to Boss Dave.

I can't think of any tools off-hand that I used that are not available even to 7.5,... considering most of the new plugs started as free 3rd party plugs. Most are available though Flay.com
