Default BarkingTreefrog - Summer challenge

Ok, I am in, and I am going to finish this one. It'll give me a chance to try out the new computer. Still deciding on Ninja or Pirate.

OK. I just had to look as far as my desk.

It's either Sponge Bob Pirate, or TMNT Donatello. Not sure yet. Any suggestions or preferences?

Again, not too hard of a decision. Here's a ref pic.

But I think I might take this a different direction. Maybe Bubba, the overweight, beer-gut, out of shape TMNT.

I like the TMNT's idea for you concept but your own version of it like Bubbba that you mentioned. I like s2-speedy's idea too.

My thinking is that if you model one of the TMNT characters that already exist, it may do you more harm than good unless you're an excellent modeler because the slightest little flaw will probably really stand out. But if you do your own version, then even if it's not exact, nobody will know and you will still have a great model. Bubba, the overweight, beer-gut, out of shape TMNT is a great idea. Reminds me of the drunken master that Jackie Chan played. Pirate or Ninja, I think both are great ideas. Nobody's seen a TMNT Pirate before (that I know of) so that really does have a nice ring to it.

nice start mate,

only 1 thing that i noticed the fingers look a little thin towards the end. it could be because of perspective though.

keep up the good work

Thanks speedy.

I think it's the fact that the hand is too thick where it meets the fingers. but I will take a look at it.

And a little more of an update...

I was wondering when you were going to start modeling on this thing. I think it's looking pretty good so far. Like s2-speedy said, nice start.
