Default 'Toy Car' tutorial issues

Just paid for and downloaded the Toy Car tutorial.

I have to say going by just the first video, I am a little disappointed. I don't want to moan about these things but as I have paid for it I feel I have some entitlement to do so.

Firstly in the first zip file, the reference.psd file which is contained in a zip is apparently corrupt. I have downloaded the file twice and neither the MS Windows built in zip, WinRAR or 7Zip want to know anything about it. They are all throwing up errors. Can we please get this fixed and re-uploaded because without this reference image we cannot get started on the tutorial.

Also regarding this image. From the first video it seems that the author is cutting up the image into side/top/front views etc. and and lining things up in Photoshop because its not quite centralised etc etc. Shouldn't this have been done beforehand and then just pack the resultant side/front/top files, instead of getting all the end users to correct all the images, seperate them and save them too ? This would have saved a Chapter.

Lastly, this guy is talking so quiet and laid-back I had to whack up the volume and really focus in order to pay attention to what was going on.

Anyway just personal groans really as all previous tuts I've downloaded from Simply have had the reference images already prepared.

But can we please get the .psd file in Download 01 fixed ?

Thanks

No its not corrupt you simply require the latest version on winzip to unpack it. If you read the page you will find this at the bottom. The reference files in this tutorial use the latest version of winzip Alternative versions may be found here http://www.simplymaya.com/daves/reference.zip

He spends 10 minutes cutting up the images. that's 10 minutes out of a 13 hour tutorial. Its done because not everyone knows how to cut up and size there reference images in Photoshop.

Anyway skip the reference part if you know how to do it and i hope you enjoy the tutorial.

Thanks David. Sorry I did miss the part about having the latest version of WinZip.

As for the image cut-ups, I suppose 10mins (not counting for user pauses as we catch up) out of 13hrs is not much. It just seemed unnecessary but I take your point about teaching people how to cut up the images. That's fair enough.

Well I'm looking fwd to having a go at this as it's been a while since I last did a tutorial from here and you have some on here that I want to try after this.

Thanks again.
