Link Chains again animation
Is there an easy way to animate a chain i.e. have an object attached to a chain so that when the object moves the chain follows with out breaking apart or manually moving/rotating each link ??
the only way i can think to achieve this is to use bones is this how it should be done or is there a better way ??? |

This is a new 7.5b Feature.
Splinamate is a new spline-control animation feature which makes it easier to animate objects like hoses and tentacles. You can define how many control points the spline will have and how "stretchy" the object will be.

You could use endomorph; basically you model, as a morph target, the same chain rotated by the distance of one link. Repeating this movement in layout gives you the impression that the chain rotates; then you could use expression to control this by object movement. You should find some tutorial on the web concerning this method.. Curious about trying 7.5b method (still waiting for the Mac update )..
