How to add an texture on a surface, and where can i find some?

There is lots of different ways to add textures to a surface. When in the surface editor you click on the T button next to the surface attribute. Here you can add Procetural textures, image maps, and gradients. For more specifics you should pop open your manual and read up on this section.

Digital Textureing and Painting is a great book to start you out.
