Default The Super hero that does nice things for people

This is a character I'm working on for a commercial contest. Super Casey, the super hero that does nice things for people. Any comments are appreciated.

Default Help with MD Controler

Here is a pose of the character. But I had one problem. I posed him and was going to use MD to get the flowing cape, but as I started the MD, the cape disappeared. I tried it earlier with him just standing there (as in the previous pic) and everything was fine. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

Thanks Kevin. It's nice to have the Guru himself approve. The contest is for a local radio station. You make the commercial and if you win, they air it on the TV for the summer and give you $3000. I have less than 2 weeks to finish. Wish me luck.

Wow man, sounds like a tough challenge, but its lookin good so far! One thing i suggest is that you work with your colors.. the blue everything is a bit too much.. maybe try different colors.. and use shaders to make it have a cooler look . Are you going to cel shade this guy? He would probably come out wicked! BTW, I LOVE your avatar, did you make that?!

Maybe some boots and gloves wouldn't go amiss? I have to agree with "M" about the colour scheme - try to break it up a bit with some other colours. Can't really help with the MD thing...have you had a look at the MD tutorial at all?

Thanks for the comments guys. I haven't really done anything for the background yet. I just put that light blue so that it wasn't just black. The boots are a nice idea. Also I was thinking of putting "racing stripes" down his arms and legs. That would break up the blue suit a bit.

M, thanks about the avatar. Yes I did make him. When I get some free time to do my own stuff, he will be a character in an animated short I am planning.

Just a short update guys (unfortunately, I am concentrating on the animation, so I don't have any still renders at the moment). I made his cape yellow, and it looks a lot better. I am probably about 1/3 of the way through with the animation with about 3 days left available for me to work on it. But it is looking good. I will at least have something to show by Monday, the dreaded deadline. Thanks for all the help so far.

Best of luck with the animation, Barking - hopefully you can make the deadline and have something excellent to show for it. I'll look forward to seeing the final result!
