Looks like the scene is coming alone. I realy like the conpistion of the first render. I think if you render that camera angel with the updated modeling you will realy have a great scene

[UPDATE]
I decided not to have the lamp in the scene at all, but between my last post and now have been working on some additions and a subtraction. The place card with my name is gone at the behest of my missus, and I have added a bottle and an ashtray with a cigarette. The ashtray needs to have some stubbed out butts in it yet, and some ash, and I may or may not label the bottle. Also the lights are being rearranged tonight as I think the caustics on the bottle are over the top. Anyway, this is so far........ http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...withBottle.jpg hasta la victoria, siempre! ~~CM! |

NICE, The compition looks great and the smoke is really well done as well. my only crit would be to add some hightlights on the bottle and sone red glow on the end of the ciggerette.
All and all thou the scene looks great. Ritual  |

I'd maybe move the gun ever so slightly to the right so the trigger isn't as obscured by the glass
Looking good |

I wass just think that you might want to use an image glob in your scene. it would really help give or reflection some more realism.

I decided it was time for an update as I've changed some things.
I added a HDRI as ritual posted, made quite a difference. But with the good came the bad..............the HDRI made the scene look completely fake because I had my settings up so high to accomodate the fake lighting. So after playing around for a while and readjusting almost every setting (not fun! lol) I came up with this... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...pics/FL_20.jpg I still have some tweaking to do, and may still adjust some things, but it's getting there. Thanks for the support guys! ~~CM! |

indeed the HDRI added realizm to your scene.
still, the alcohol looked better IMO in the previous render. now it's...clean, too transparent. Also above the alcohol, it seems that there is something in the bottle, or some label in the upper half? or it's just a refletion? it seems that the ashtray and the cigarette get less light from above. the new position of the gun is gr8! i'm shure that with few more tweaks the scene will get there |

thx guys!
yup, I'm still not happy with the bottle. I did spend a whole day on an antique pocket watch with a fancy face. Placed it in the scene, did test renders, got it just right, nice reflections of brass...etc... then my missus walked past and said "Nan, look out of place" so I lost a day messing with something when I should have been messing with the bottle....lol I am gonna do some test renders with different labels today and see what I get. thx again ~~CM! |

I know!
lol Have been busy running a lightwave forum and writing tutorials for the noobs, or fingerpainters as I have ranked them. I will post an update later today that will probably be my final also. We'll see. I seem to have lost the edge on my lighting, so may need to revert back and do some work on it. Problem is the pc I'm working on is real slow and I have a lot of glass and reflections in the scene, so it is taking around 30mins to render a scene. :angery: My gfx workstation won't be ready for at least 2 months yet! :headbang: oh well! |
