So THAT'S what he looks like if he's had a meeting with the Yorkshire ripper and then introduced to a steam press.

Well done on getting all the UVs done at least - now on to the more fun stuff!

Thanks, Well I finally started painting. I figured out how to export the UV. Then it took me a little while longer to figure out that LW exported it as the wrong color format. :headbang: After that I was able to do my first test of placement. the color is only for clarity.

I'm glad I took the time to iron out the UV . It makes it so much easier.

thank you very much. I've only worked with UV's once before. Which was at one of these comps (the theme was a modeling and texturing a game object. I did a mecha hulk). Needless to say I did learn a few things about UVing.

Well I had to render a smaller scale chain texture. What you see is going to be the bump map. I used a gradient node to make the highest of the bump white and the lowest black. Sounds a lot easier than it was.:headbang:

Excellent so far. I'd be tempted to scale the chain texture down even further though. In typical chain mail (I used to know someone who made medieval armour for a hobby) the rings used would be between 10-15mm diameter (ie: bloody small) ... I reckon you could get away with up to 25mm ring diameter for artistic purposes...

Yeah, I know what you saying. I know a couple of people who make chainmail. There is larger ring out there but its more for show. I'm still glad you said something. these are, after all, test renders. improvements on the way.
