The one I grew up with is in a lot worse condition. So much that I repainted it when I was about 12.

Now that I have the actual car, I see a lot of details that I had wrong. So I've rebuilt it to better match the original.

Looking good so far. Watch the transition between that crease on the side panel, and the start of the fender, I'm not certain going off the images you posted, but it looks like you might have a bit of pinching. Overall the shape is looking pretty good so far.
You planning to texture it with nice paint, or the well-played look? |

The way I was thinking was to first make it new and then bash it up a bit. I've got the modeling mostly done, All that's left is the bottom. Anyone have an idea what font that is?

Hey Sandman, The car is looking great, Cant wait to see it textured.
As for the font on the underbelly... I've just had a quick look and I think Gill Sans MT is the closest matching Font I could see that I have that resembles it. Hope that helps. |

Your wires are nice and clean, you do have some pinching on those fenders tho.
You've got that pole/star where it transitions from the side panel crease into the fender and you're bending around into the wheel well. What you can do to alleviate that is add an edge on either side of the star, so that its more or less restricted to one plane, and not being pulled in too many directions. I attached an image [hope you don't mind] to better illustrate what I mean. Hope it helps. http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w...rBender_01.jpg Sometimes you can get away with pinches that are obvious in Modeler, but don't really show up in a render, but I think the one you've there now is a bit too much, and likely to show in the render. Overall, its looking good tho, keep it up. |

s2-speedy - It looks like the Gill sans in the O But more like Ariel in the W and S the rest looks the same to me. I think I might do a mix an match to get it done.
Warlock 279 - I see what you mean now, I did a bit of retooling of the polyflow, It looks a bit better but I can't get away without a few stars here and there.

That topology looks much safer. You're always going to have poles, be it 3 or 5 poly poles, you're gonna have some somewhere, its just a matter of placing them where they're the least detrimental, and the least likely to pinch.
General rule of thumb is, the flatter the surface you can put them on, the better. |
