i think i have pretty much finished my modeling atsept for the shoulder pads i dont really know how to add em and make em look good. i am going to stick to procedure textures for this because i dont know what to do with them. i got a book today so that explains it hopefully ill add better textures next time. well onto the screeneys heres a quad view |

and finally the belt // helmet
i havent added these to the body because well the belt wouldnt look right attached directly to the body and i plan on the helmet being knocked off. Last edited by Sharp; 26-06-2004 at 12:06 AM. |

well iv had enouth of the modelling of this thing .
i am quite a total noob but quite a quick learner and willing to put time in and i have put alot of time into this **(mostly because of the noobish techniques i used)** its very fustrating lol. as you learn new things as you go along and then by time you finish it. you know alot more and know you can do alot better now. which also goes for along the way to. but i promised my self i wornt keep restarting i am going to stick at it 1 of the very major things i have learnt from doing this is how to begin the model . i could of saved hours if i took some time to plan. even tho i carnt draw to scale it would have helped. i tryed putting my concept into it but it was not right. the body was twisted and everything so i gave up on that and did it by tweaking and tweaking until i liked it. i could carry on tweaking it and mayb get it better especially the arms. hands i did upside down so the top is the palm >.< so ill tweak that some. but i am going to use procedural textures for the textureing as i cannot yet correctly do anything else and dont have time to learn it. hopefully next time i will do better. damn this sounds like im leaveing it as it is. im not iv just finished the modeling. im going to do simple procedural textures on it and put it into a pose. just looking around at both this and maya forums has also help me along thanks every1 on helping me learn basic modeling from what i began with something a little like what you see below i think i did ok but that was a terrible noob mistake i did for starting . it added likt 10 hours onto working time now onto procedure textures |

Hell yeh - planning is just so important to the workflow. I really have to stop diving into projects myself without actually knowing what I'm doing! Ah well, Rome wasn't built in a day and you can't expect to learn modeling all in a day either. Keep it up though!

i got a lightwave book yestoday so im going to look through that i should have time i have from 6:00pm everyday till wednesday so i should find some basics. |

heres what i came up with. can any1 tell me how i can stop it being a sun set and just make it blue no orange. thanks. also is there anyway to attach the belt to the body for animation without putting it in the same layer? |
