Hey Davie,

I made a tutorial (speechless though) video (DivX 5) how U make the rocket etc also with the Hypervoxels as Mark describes it above (same way I did it).

The only thing I left out was the lightsource under the rocket which gives it a smarter look.

If U watch the movie, U can see where 2 get all the information and how to make the changes.

Ehmm....the file is large I'm afraid, I converted it to a self extracting Uharc-file (something like .zip or .rar but with a higher compression- al you do is double click and it selfextracts to a destination you like into an .avi), still, it's 20 Meg's.
But I'll guarantee you will have good results.

C how far U get with Mark's explanation, otherwise reply and I'll put it up on my website so U can download my file. (surely, anyone else is welcome 2 !!)

Regards,

T

I put it up on this link: http://cinema.milkywaypictures.com/Davie.html

If it's 2 fast, I'll put up a slower version.
It's a Gif by the way and only 5 Megs (colors are not realistic)

Greetz, standing by 4 C & C

Davie what kind of video card do you have in that system? As for your power supply. the connector is right beside your IDE port on the motherboard.. I would say its time for a new power supply for you. the one you have in there now only looks like a 225 to a 250W. I think it would be better if you just get a whole new case with the power supply. The prices won't be much more then just picking up a new power supply anyway. If you have any of the Nvidia FX cards in your system you'll need atleast a 300W power supply. They love to suck the power.

Most simple solution could be a higher velocity (lager Y vector for the particles (8 iso 4 m/s), U could also try to deactivate stretching (velocity>none) in the hypervoxel details window.

Or make the particle size a bit smaller...

Show me another render with some details like this please.

In the mean time I'll attatch the scenefile.

Greetz and good luck,

T.

Nice one there Davie. It's certainly getting there.

As for your power supply, any new unit you get will come with all the connection cables attached, so no need to worry about opening the box to attach them at that end, it's only the end that attaches to the MB and drives you need to think about.

The drumming noise you hear is usually down to the fan bearings wearing unevenly. This causes the fan to vibrate (which in turn causes further deterioration of the bearings). Eventually, you'll probably hear a nasty grinding sound from the fan before it gives up the ghost completely, so better to get it replaced sooner rather than later - the same thing happened to me once on an overclocked Geforce3 card - the GPU fan went - I never got it replaced, and before I knew it, one fried GPU!
