Howdy All!

Finally gotten a chance to get back to my entry! I've been playing around with Motion Mixer a bit, as I hadn't really done much with it before, [for those who haven't used it, Motion Mixer allows you to save different bits of animation as clips, that you can drag into a timeline in the Motion Mixer panel - kinda like using Final Cut Pro, Premiere or After Effects!]. You can then add transitions to blend from one clip to the next, to form animated sequences of different actions.

I still have alot to figure out with Motion Mixer, I've found it hard to blend different actions together without things like the feet going through the floor, even though none of the clips do that when played individually!

So here's my final entry, there are bits that still bother me but I won't have the time to fix them and I'm looking at this project as being more of an experimental peek at Motion Mixer!

I used DivX 6.1 for compression - the file is about 2.2Mb.

Hey mate,

I might be teaching your granny to suck eggs with this comment, but using the offset editor on your motions should sort out your bizarre added movement issue, with it you can set each individual part of your actor to move relative to the previous motion, as an absolute value or relative to the previous motion only on the X&Z planes. Very useful indeed!
Very nice animation btw (I was d/ling it as i typed the 1st bit), goes to show what a difference a nice, clean mesh can make. Well done!

....teaching your granny to suck eggs...

Haven't heard that one before!

Great work Priimate - I really like your animation - especially the way you have animated his toes so that they bend individually. Haven't really done much animation myself so this challenge has been really good to follow.

The problems that you mentioned with the Motion Mixer sounds like similar problems that I noticed with the Trax Editor in maya when I first started playing with it the other day - you move a clip and suddenly my character's hands start bending into his chest!

Good luck in the challenge priimate - this is a great entry.

Nice work Magus....The detail you put into your work is commendable.

Looking at the sneak sequence it might compliment the beer swilling supervillain if you find it hard to choose the character.

The comic appeal of Beer Man tip toeing through the tulips to the background track of "Highway to hell" sung by Tiny Tim seems appealing. Just a thought!

cool final piece priimate, very sneaky

It looks like there is a little jerk when one of the legs comes down which takes away a little of the stealthy effect. Its nice how you cycle it back to the original position.
