this is the side i mirror with out the funny seams



any ideas is it just cos it cut and some points get merged when i mirror?

looks like you had some points occupying the same space on the wheel arcs.

a way to work around that would be to mirror with the merge option unchecked, and then select only the points on the middle seam and hit "m".

but I would advise you to hunt and kill (or move) these troublemaking vertices...

Sometimes when you make time smooth shifts or booleans the points are so close that they combine when mirroring.

Inspected my mess

and i can see whats happening now

Mirrored without merge activated and then merged manually..

Every thing was ok then

Grrr

ive done three parts of tut 3 times now though i had made an error...just some of my points very close together so they get merged when i mirror..

thx for help anyways guys was a big help

Hi Guyz will pop a new image of my progress later

Phil i inspected my mess yesterday..reguarding the error

it was a few 2 point polys i had forgot to remove from a previous part of the tute..

Removed em and shes looking sweet again now..

Try mirroring one layer at a time. Sometimes mirroring with multiple layers will merge unwanted points on mirrored side.

Ekkk that hood was tricky

But it looks ok in my eyes
