im sorry iv caused you a bunch load of bs, im at work atm, but when i get back ill try and show you a little more on this, its not hard, the hardest bit is deciding if a poly faces left, right, back or front.

ill post somthing more usefull later, need to create a new model first.

I really appreciate the help, but i've decided to abandon UV's and just stick to normal texture maps that i have on my mind. I'll even throw in some procedurals after that. But thanks a lot anyways. I might have to UV the face and stuff which will be done later. I have loads of time! I'll do something and post today.

alright, i've done a little bit of texturing and coloring, but I haven't put bump maps down yet. I'll post another pic when I do. The model is now part UV, part procedural. Eye is not complete. Head need texturing.

that last render looks awsome.

maybe its the best option to take, i just sat down to start, i wouldnt mind having a go at this comp, but i have already started some other stuff.

You could still uv sections like you were b4, like the claws, spikes and eye, that way you get the detail in.

good luck with this!

thanks a lot guys. I too wasn't quite happy with the back blades or whatever those are called. I had tried to put something in contrast to the body color. I'll try to make them a little different maybe with a gradient or something. I'll try at least two more different textures and then select one as final.

here's a slightly modified back plates. I think they're a little too bright or flashy. I did a search on google, and this is what it came up with.

i had lost the first texture, so i had to do it over. I tried experimenting a bit, but somehow procedurals not working well. I put the brightly colored spikes on him to see how he looks. I think i'll just choose one from these 2 colors and then refine and perfect it... which one looks better? I think the white one is nice, but i cant find the right spikes on it.
