Its 400$ USD and worth Every penny. It progressively refines the image it first displays. Its so fast and gives so much feedback in seconds texturing is a pure joy now. Its very full featured you can pause renders and restart them, limited regen rendering, zoom into a portion of your image and more. This is going to change how I use layout 1 Billion percent. Here is a tire render after like 1 minute. Remember it progressively renders so you see it constantly update. If you watch the videos on Worleys site it does exactly what you see its amazing.

On average I would say 20-45 seconds into Fprimes rendering after the window refreshes you have a image close to what it would take F9 5-6 minutes to spit out. It will also render forever if you just let it go.

45 Seconds this should give you an idea how fast this beast is. You can see how it progressively renders the scene. Very quick and very good quality also.

Here is a little taste of the pure goodness that is Fprime. This is a radiosity render using Background radiosity with the only light source is a HDR Beach probe.

FPRIME is just about as cool as it gets! I've recently dusted off my copy of LW and upgraded to V9 (enjoying the beta right now) and so I decided to spring for a couple of new plugins (FPRIME being one) in anticipation of the completed V9. I've been using MAYA for quite some time but my fondness for LW never dies. Now that I have FPRIME I think I may stick with it for a while. Its just SO bloody fast!
I have only been testing it out in 8.5, but if FPRIME can render the new LW V9 shaders I think we're all in for a super treat! Nice wheel assembly, dude! Dave |

I agree that FPrime is worth every $. I've been using it for over a year and it is superb. But it can't show light flares and shaders.

Hopefully in LW9 they will have better access to Lightwave with Fprime so it can do more.

Thats what it says on the NEWTEK site ... that they are working very closely together with 3rd party developers ... the result, if it happens, would be incredible!
