Default Challenge July / Aug 2nd Entry

Sabathiel - better known as the Archangel Micheal.

This is my second entry for the Simplylightwave competition.
The theme was to focus on lighting, so I thought of this scene.I have always wanted to model a propped set of wings - feather by feather and I love the iconic angel concept.

I used a volumetric, main light over head...heavens light. Dust particals to add a subtle atmosphere. A soft glow on the angel and on the wings to give a soft feel to the composition.I wanted to achieve a lighting look, reminiscent of a renascence painting. Modeled in Lightwave 8.3 with a splash of Zbrush. Rendered in Lightwave 8.3 -Project Time was one weekend.
