Default A character I'm working on...

Without textures, hair and eyebrows, he looks strange and sick but It's just a eyes textures/shading test.

What do you think?

Good model - keep working on it, there's definitely character there!

Hmm. Very nice piece of work.

He looks a little disturbing without hair/eyebrows, but there's something about that that does give him a certain quality.

Kinda like Number47 from the Hitman games....

Can't wait to see some more finished shots....

Regards,
Mark

Wow!

What settings did you use for the skin and for lighting the scene?
G2? OGO? ... just plain 'ol Lightwave?

Thumbs up

excellent!!

still not sure if it's SSS or "just" a very clever light setup...

and yes, Digimatt is right: we crave for a wire shot

(BTW modeling technique was "detail up" right?)

Thanks a lot for your comments...

As I don't have the time to do a good lighting now, I just use a couple of lights and radiosity(35 minutes rendering on a P III 800 512 Mb).

I'd like to use something like G2... the problem is that none shaders take the 'Shading Noise Reduction' option into account.

I use area light all the time and sometimes radiosity...
so I most of the time need that 'Shading Noise Reduction' option.

Here's the face wireframe:

Default Hey... Is that....

Am I mistaken or is that Tom Cruise? It bears a striking resemblance to him, particularly in the nose area.

Great work!

Thanks for the feedback!

TheEndless:Thanks, yes I used Tom Cruise as a reference but don't especially want the character to really look like him.

Danny:Thanks, I think that's just a matter of practice.

Zarathustra:Thanks, I wish I could have the time to make a tutorial but unfortunately, I don't really the time right now...I hope later.

RiGLEY:Thanks, I appreciate it! I think LightWave renderer is very good.

Kvaalen:Thanks, yes I know... my mistake

Here's a little update...I just mapped an very basic color map to check out how the UV was going to fit:
