Default best way to do characters

what is the best way to do a character ( anatomy and body first and add clothing on top )

or the clothing stright onto it with no body.

I would think some of it would have to do with what you want the clothes to do. If you want to animate them using things like cloth_fx then I'd say do them seperately, otherwise, if the audience isn't ever going to see the body, who cares whether or not it's there.

Just my thoughts.

Hoopti's right - depends on what you want to do with the character. A lot of people make the clothing without any body underneath simply because they don't need it and its a lot of extra modelling. Personally I prefer to create the body because its good practice for me and you never know when the character might be needed nekkid
