Default Import a Maya file on Lightwave

Hello!
Does anyone know if i can import a maya file on lightwave?

I'm a new user of lightwave...

You could use the OBJ format. Export an OBJ from Maya and then Load it with Lightwave. LW can read the OBJ format with the standard loader but you may need to change "Files of type" to All Files in the Load Object window.

But it doesn't work proprietly...
Maya exports, or Lightwave loads, (i can't know) only some parts of my object...
Strange thing?

I think you have to make sure that you're whole object is in polys before you export it as .obj file. Since Maya and LW have different smoothing and SubD options the object needs to be in it's primary stage.
