Question Layout setting

Hello all, This may be simple for you, but it's bugging me.

On Layout, I have 2 objects moving around, and I want to have both stop and stay still for 10 sec. and than move it to other position.

I can achieve it all, timing and place, but as soon I key the next position over, the objects start moving during the 10 seconds period.

Let me clarify this in example:

- At frame 0, objects A and B are keyed for start position.
- at frame 100, objects A and B are moved and keyed for resting position.
- at frame 200, objects A and B are keyed for resting position again without move. It will give me about 3 seconds of steady movement.
- at frame 300, objects A and B are moved and keyed in this new position.

Ahh that old chestnut ( /me nods head sagely)

Lightwave is trying to smooth the motion of your objects, so what you will find is that as soon as you add the final keyframes, the motion curves will change somewhat (so you'll probably get some overshoot through the frames).

Go into the graph editor, and open the motion curves for your objects. Where you want them to be still, set the incoming/outgoing curves to 'linear'. This should prevent the overshoot and still the object.

Sorry I can't explain this any better, but I'm currently at work and don't have a copy of Lightwave anywhere near me.

Hope this helps...

Thanks Mark, I think that will do it, since I spent 2 hours doing and re doing, I got familiar with the options, just could not find the correct procedure or buttom to press...

Thanks again...

I will try again tonight.
