Default volumetric light projecting shadow

Hi,
can anyone give me a hint how to make a volumetric fire , which I had done yet, which projects shadow ? I am doing a sequence where is a fireplace with fire inside and I would like it to throw a shadow of flames in front of the fireplace..I tried to place there some lights behind the fire without any results..Can anyone help please?

Lightbulb

Well Meerah, you might try using a gobo on the light using a procedural texture, animate it and it might pass.
