Default Snapping to point?

Hi,

I know one can select a point, say from a corner of a cube, and then snap it to the corner of another cube. However, when this is done, the polygons on the first cube are stretched and are no longer a cube. Is it possible to snap to a point while moving the entire object. I guess the best comparison would be the way it is done in Adobe Illustrator: the user selects a 2D square, then clicks on a specific point and moves the entire square until it snaps to its destination point. Does LW have anything like this?

In addition, does LW have temporarily rulers that can be dragged on the x & y axis? Sort of like Photoshop?

Thanks for you input.

With the snap tool you can press the "n" button (numeric panel) and choose from the drop down menu Connected Points. This way it will move all the conected points but if you are in polygon mode it will move all the selected polygons the are connected to it.

About the ruler, LightWave has a grid. Is that what you want?

Kvaalen,

"Connected Points" works perfectly! Thanks.

Concerning the rulers, it's not terribly important. The grid will do.

Thanks again,
Dan

You can find a ruler under the construct tab, at the bottom hit "measure" and in the popup select Measure tool. Or to skip all that hit ctrl-q its the measure tools shortcut.
