Default Time independent animations..

hi all..im back again with a quest:rant: .... how to create an animation which is time independent(say like a sprite in flash)...tat is it should go on n on..independent of time bar?...say a piston is reciprocating inside a cylinder...this action shud go on through out the movie without expecting anything from frames or timebar or timeslider ...thanx
