Default Download Error

Hi,

ok, not really a download error but problems with extracting the zip files of the latest tuts (strat and tabasco). I simply can not extract the movies. "Strat_Modeling_DivX_05" for example. "Strat_Modeling_DivX_04" is ok btw.

Any one else?

regards,
comanche

maybe it is a download error... I just doublechecked and they extract fine.

do you get an error message when exracting (or trying to)?

What software do you use for extracting?

have a look here and give this free zip tool a shot:

UltimateZip

hope this helps

(if it doesn't, try downloading again; you will be recognized and no additional points will be substracted from your account)

Im not sure about zip, but with .rar's when you use winrar you can get errors when trying to extract files that are packed up with a newer version, so you should check out that url philip gave you

yep, just tried again: downloaded the Tabasco tutorial and unzipped it with UltimateZip. Came out ok and played back well.

Thanks for all your help!

I tried to extract the files on WinXP with no special tool. As I mentioned before, there were no problems with "Strat Part 4", but with "Strat Part 5" and the "Tabasco" tutorial. Meanwhile I installed Stuffit (still got the setup on my HD) and tried it again. No luck. An error message occurs telling me that there are probs with the avi file. I have downloaded the archives 3 times (man, that takes time :-) ) with no luck. I'll go for it again today and keep you updated ...

thanks again,
comanche

ahhhhh

Nobody here but us chickens, this could well be my fault i have been re-righting the download scripting and some downloaded's may well have been corrupted while I was in the testing process, sorry about that all should be well from now on.

Most likely it was simply a bad download

@philip: DSL flat - so no big deal with heavy downloads :-)

@david: thanks for the info. Everything seems to be fine again.

cheers,
