Okay kiddies, here it is. Bon Appetite!
The agenda is as follows: Hello, Clear your schedule for the San Deigo Lightwave Users Group at CryWolf Computers at 11:00am on Saturday, October 16th at 7320 Convoy Court, San Diego. Phone number is (858) 277-9653 The theme of this meeting is “Texturing And Gaming”. The presentations for this meeting will include: Presenter 1 - Dogwaffle Philip Staiger will present a killer paint program called Dogwaffle which is created by Dan Richey. This is a must have addition to Photoshop. If you missed his presentation at the San Diego Photoshop Users’ group or the Los Angeles Lightwave Users Group then here is another opportunity to see him doing a live demo of this killer paint program. Project Dogwaffle isn't designed to be a feature-for-feature match of any other graphics software. It does have a lot of terrific features, but the goal is a program designed for creative individuals who want to get down and dirty with their pixels. The workflow is based around the idea of making pictures, and to that end, we designed the interface around the user. Color mixing is out in the open where you can get to it quickly, not hidden away in a dialog box, and you have your choice of mixers to suit your needs. Brushes can be created on the fly. You can pick up a full color image, or even an animation, and just paint with it. Whenever feasible, our filters were designed to work full-screen, in realtime. There's no waiting to see what you get - you just get it. Even our animation system is designed to work in realtime, so you see what you get without having to build a preview! For more information visit their website: http://www.squirreldome.com/cyberop.htm Presenter 2 – Gaming Engines and Normal Mapper plugin for LightWave. Dustin Adaire, an Los Angeles animator will give a two part presentation. One will be on how to use gaming engines and LightWave 8 to create your very own gaming environment. The other will be on the use of a killer plugin called Normal Mapper. Normal Mapper uses a suffisticated bump map that allows a low resolution polygon objects to appear as a high resolution mesh. To find out more on this interesting plugin go to http://amber.rc.arizona.edu/lw/normalmaps.html . Presenter 3 – Texturing For LightWave using Photoshop. Stephen Burns, the president of the San Diego Photoshop Users Group will give a presentation on creating textures in Photoshop to apply as surface and UV maps in LightWave. Access his website at www.chromeallusion.com . For directions follow the link below. I would go but I'm only 16 and to fly to CA just for a two day seminar is a bit expensive on my side. Then again the experience would great and i would meet a lot of LW professionals.
