I got to Temple University in Philadelphia for Film and Media Arts. It is renowned as a "great" film school. We have one 3D class. Check out this schedule of the semester we've had so far that I just made up

I am so pissed off right now. As you can see I just got home from a no contact cancellation and made this graph in a furious rage.

Heh I went to 3D Exchange for a while and 6 months in when we got our packet for the next lvl I droped out because I saw the first model we were doing. It was a table humm... lets see a box with two bevels for a slight edge on top and one lathed leg that was mirrored to create the four legs. It was Truley sad sad sad. I cost 1600$ for each 4-6 week lvl and they gave me enough work to do in about 2-3 days seriously. Then they tried to spread out that 2-3 days worth of work over 4-6 weeks. Made me want to Puke.

After I droped I wandered the net looking for teaching and somehow miracously came across silmplylightwave.com. I can confidently say the value here for your money is unbeatable. Watching a 3D artist model and teach you highely detailed photorealistic modeling/surfaceing techniques is totally Priceless. You get more bang for your Lightwave buck here than anywhere.

I know. Im living by this forum. Im just pissed about all the cancellations and how the class wasnt ready for the first 5 weeks

I really can't see how so many classes can get cancelled due to lack of equipment or software. I work in an academic environment and I know that the educational versions of software saves us a tonne of cash. Part of our school educates architects and our computer rooms are fully equipped with pretty much every piece of software you would ever want to use and quite a few that you would never want to touch. No teachers either? We usually bring some in from industry if our current lecturers aren't up to lecturing the subject, that way our students gain from knowing about using the software from someone who actually makes a living from it. Oh well, you can always use the time to teach yourself if you've got the equipment to do so.

I dont know what else to say except its 100% accurate with no imbelishment. I guess thats what you get when you go to an $8,000/year state funded school.
