Read-only objects?
An object that I'm modelling has opened up today as read-only -- I can't do anything to it! Have i tripped a switch somewhere? In the Finder, Get Info shows the .lwo file to be unlocked...
TIA, Tim |

Hmm... What version of LW? I think this is a known bug in 8.0. There's a number of ways you can work around it.
The first is to simply copy the entire object, layer by layer into another one and save... tedious, and you might miss something such as maps, etc... but works. Another option to try is to run modeller without the hub (don't know how to do this on the Mac - on a PC add the switch '-0' (that's zero) to the command line) Hope this helps... |

Thanks, Mark --
I'm using 7.5 (8.0 arriving this week). Will give the cut-and-paste a try. |

I've had this happen a few times. I'm still running 7.0,.. (I hope to upgrade sometime in the near future)
I found that shutting the whole app. down and restarting works 2 out 3 times. |

Hmm,,, this sounds familliar.... Ok, i always never run the modeller and layout at the same time... well when i was using 7.0.. that was because my ram was like 128 or 256... a very slow machine with built in video card... What i did was to save as another name... and the problem dissapeared.
