Unhappy UV Head map problem

Hi, I'm currently working on a model head, but when I UV the face it gets repeated on the back of the head. If I isolate the hair polys as a seperate surface I can get rid of it, but then I get an uggly edge where the face map ends and the hair map starts. Is there a way to map the whole head without repeating the image on the back of the head. I read somewhere about unwrapping the head but have never managed to achieve this successfully. Any advice or tuts appreciated.

Jon.

Here's a bunch of UV mapping tutes. There's a couple for heads in there. Scroll down a ways to the Mapping section.
