If you have Lightwave 8, you can always use Rounder - excellent little tool for those microbevels. Great looking model, Shawry! Love the progress being made.

thnx guys. this is my first attempt at texturing the Dreadnought. Its Ultramarine livery, but a little bit dulled down. Im not sure wether to go full on bright colours colours ala the true colours, or make it down and dirt like a realy war machine would be??

This is really great, are you going to use colors of one of the main chapters or something of your own ?
Well, this had a second page, who knew ![]() He looks liek he just left the factory, it would propably look very good with some scratches , marks from lasers and bullets etc.. Last edited by Cryptor69; 05-07-2004 at 11:46 AM. |

Nice textures, Shawry. I remember when W40k was first released I was thinking "These things must show up for miles around on a battlefield, especially with huge banners coming out of their backs". But with that amount of firepower and when they look that good - who cares?

cool down the colors...take a look at the Unreal Tournament 2003 and 2004 models...take that as inspiration...and it will not look like a lego toy anymore

yep, morghen, the main front panels and leg panels are UV mapped with textures i painted in photoshop, most other things are just textured in various ways! I'm not an experienced texturer so im sure it could look a lot better than it does!
I'm still unsure of the colours, i had a bit of a play this arfternoon and the typicalrobot colour schemes just look really bland and i start to miss the bright blue!!! Here is a pic of the actual Ultramarine Dreanought from Games-Workshop: ![]() EDIT: image doesnt seem to work when i upload it :s Last edited by Shawry; 06-07-2004 at 01:37 PM. |

You should try using procedurals. That's probably what he did aside from the logos and such.
