Good question.

Well the reason I put the legs opposing each other, is because of the weight of the trees it would be harvesting, I wanted the weight to be pin-pointed to the center. (Of course in 3D there is no real weight so It is mainy there for detail)

Ok as for the animating, there is no problem (I know this because I already tested, I am a test freak and must make sure everything works in the creation process) The bottom leg has 180 degree rotation, so when the first leg is in process of moving the 2nd back leg would follow shortly after and so etc.....

A quick note: I did state that this robot will be set in the future but will almost be out dated, what I haven't decided is the speed and pace it moves,I was leaning torwards starwars AT-TE really slow with a bulky movement ( which I belive suits) but I have tested this sucker jamming,it looks quite interesting.... mb ill post it up and see what you guys think =)

Hope that answers your question

Well the Clock is ticking and time is running out....... I quickly modeled some wheels to see if the look was worth modeling the actuall on road wheel etc.. (but my idea was to make it have mech like and half truck). Well I still haven't decided wheater to cut it or actually put it in so ill let you guys decide for me....
here is a low polygon look of the wheels....
