Default My rotation is messed up

For some reason, the rotate option on the TR viewport only spins the object and won't let me flip it. Like it gets stuck on the top view of the image, then I can only turn it. I can't flip it back so that I am looking at the front. How do I set this function back to a free rotation?

Use the 'A' command (or could be ^A) to refit all viewports to the current object. This should reset the perspective view too.

Also, you can try holding down the Alt key and rotating the object with the mouse in the perspective viewport. This should release the gimbal lock.

Ahh good old Gimbal Lock.

Here is a link that explains it well. If your intrested in whats happening.

http://www.anticz.com/eularqua.htm

To fix it is simple, just hold down the alt key and left click and drag in the prespective window this will grab the view and tilt from the mouse's position and free the gimbal lock.

Trying useing the alt left-click drag next time you want to view your object in the prespective window. Useing this gives you full and free rotation of your object which makes it much easyer for, looking at the bottom or rotateing it quickely to see any angle you wish.
