Default HELP! Hyper-Trouble!

Alright I am having a tragedy and I researched the forums here and at (cough) cgtalk and have not found an answer.

Hypervoxels. I made these perfect little hypervoxels... everthing is all good, until I put them behind glass. Then, they dont render.

I see them fine in open gl, they are not sprites. They render correctly by themselves. But whatever falls behind glass, 90% transparent glass that shows everythig else fine... no deal.

Any idea what is wrong?

In order to get HVs to render correctly through a transparent object you'll need to switch on Ray Trace Transparency (mabe even Ray Trace Refaction - can't remember).

Either way, you'll probably see your render times shoot through the roof. You'll be better off rendering in multiple passes and comping in post.

Well. I enabled all 4 (relfection, refraction, shadows, and transparency and still no win. I hope you dont mean radiosity or caustics.

Nevermind. I guess even though it was easy to see them in opengl, they were still too small, or aa was wiping them out or something. Glass was part of the issue.

Anyway, thanks Mark, and Merry Christmas.
