Something like that. It's an experiment to see how the morphing feature works. I know that you have to have an object with the same amount of points so I created a sphere and cloned it in the layout program.

well all you have to do is have like 60 frames.
1. Key frame your smaller sphere on the 1st frame.
2. Go to frame 60.
3. Resize the sphere into a bigger one.
4. Key frame it there.
5. render you little vid and it should look like the small one morphs up into a bigger one.

I dont think you should use morphs, but if you do need to then i can't really help you there.

I am probably thinking back to the Terminator 2 liquid metal effect and I would like to get one piece of the liquid metal to morph into the other one if possible

I suppose the what I am looking for on the simplest level is two balls to morph into one another or one into another with the shape changing as it goes from one to another.

I haven't checked out the lava lamp tutorial but it is probably similar to that. However is there a way to do this without the use of particles?

Well hi there ston,,, my thoughts on this are simple, well particals are the way to go,,, because when two of them come into contact they just combine.... As for spheres,,, when two of them come into contact they cut of,,, so you can see a seam or cut off line... You can try to animate a bump displacement texture on the surface when they come together to sort of fake the combination,, and position them in a way on goes into the other and forms a perfect sphere. There are things like morph targets to tell the objects what to morph to. Play around and see what you get. And work from there. You can play with the dissolve option,, if you want the object to turn into a liquid.

Good Luck,
Kumar
