In a room scene
Okay I want to make a realistic room scene and this is what I have got so far. its not very realistic and I need some help to achive a realistic look. I just pu the stuff in there to break up the lighting abit.

how many lights are there in the scene ? for a realistic render try to use a powerfull source located outside...lets say...area light and one smaller for the interior....spotlight or even a point light...use Montecarlo radiosity ! and no volumetrics

right now I have one spot light right outside the window at 300% and thats it with radiosity turned on.

put a 65% area light about 100 m from the window and one point light as the lightbulb of that thing hanging from the roof

well that thing on the roof wont be there I just put some thing in to the room to break up the lighting abit but Ill give it a try and ill post a pic later.

oh, hit ctl+f5 and set the Backdrop value to 255 255 255

To get rid of the fuzzines Mate Pu Shading Noise Reduction on. This shoud help. Looking good so far keep up the good work.

Okay here is the pic with the light in the mi8ddle of the room and the one out side at 100% instead of 500 and I will try these next things today.

....try this....65% area light outside...far away....25% point light inside in the midle of the room Montecarlo radiosity and WHITE backdrop !..oh and raytrace shadows...this will slow u'r machine down a lot but the results are great
