Unhappy Problem with DVD order - Box broken with scratched DVDs!

Hi, I just received my first order, the Interior Modeling & Texturing 5 DVD collection. I was really looking forward to this! Problem is the DVD Box arrived broken with lots of plastic pieces loose in the DVD Box. Of course most of the DVDs were also loose in the DVD Box resulting in DVDS that are severely scratched to the point that they have problems playing.

The problem DVDS are Modeling DVD #1 & Texturing DVD #2 & #3. I need replacements for these DVDs. Who do I report this problem to?

The website said there was a U.S. office that my order would ship from but my order came all the way from the U.K.. I placed a much larger order after this one & now I'm afraid it will receive the same fate. These large multi-DVD box sets really need to be shipped in a box with adequate bubblewrap protection for the long journey.

Thank You!

I too purchased the interior modelling DVD set and found that the problem lies in the molding which grips the DVD hub being too shallow for shipment applications. It will hold the disc sufficiently in a static environment (your drawer full of stuff) but doesn't grip enough to allow for shocks during transport. Once the disc comes loose the hub acts as a scourer on the disc surface. Nice.

However this is a step up from previous single DVD-Rs I've received from Simply which were just stuffed into a jiffy bag (not even a paper case - cheapskates!). I spent the first 30 minutes washing the disc under the tap to remove all the fluff from inside the jiffy bag.

Some companies just don't understand the basics.

I just received my caveman tutorial DVDs today and was pleased to find that a small piece of bubblewrap had been included inside the case(s) to take care of the problem with discs becoming dislodged in transit. Well done Simply. You're finally getting it.

On the other hand, I paid for the recently introduced 'Special' delivery but received the package via standard mail without a tracking number. So what exactly did I pay the extra for? (sigh) :headbang:

Default Scuffed up DVDs arrived loose in DVD cases

Hi, I wanted to thank you for sending the replacement "Interior with Glass" 5 DVD set. Double packaging it in bubble mailers, sealing the DVD case with tape and putting bubble wrap inside the DVD case between each DVD did the trick! This arrived perfectly.

I have a problem with the box of 7 DVD Lightwave training titles that arrived a few weeks ago. This order had already shipped before I had received the replacement "Interior with Glass" set. Some of these DVDs arrived loose in their cases with plenty of scuff marks. There was not any bubblewrap inserted inside these DVD cases to prevent them from coming loose. The scuff marks causes the playing to screw up and I can not watch the damaged AVIs on the DVDs. I managed to make a copy of a couple of the scuffed DVDs but there are 4 remaining DVDs that I can not save. Copying these damaged files results in a "redundency error" copying error. I have tried copying these damaged files on various combinations of PCs & Macs with no success.

These 4 damaged DVDs are;

1) McLaren Sportscar - Disc 2
2) Mechbot Modeling & Cell Shader - Disc 2
3) Mechbot Texture Painting - Disc 1
4) Mechbot Texture Painting - Disc 2

If I could get replacements for these 4 DVDs sent along with the order for the Caveman training & custom DVD-R training that I will be placing later today, it would be very much appreciated.

David Mitchell's training is excellent! It is refreshing to experience his project orientated approach to Lightwave training covering such a diverse range of topics. Anything that he creates I will be glad to purchase in the future.

Keep up the great work!

Hi Darren here, for those don't know I deal with the DVD orders, production, packing and postage.

I am aware of the dvds coming lose in transit, hence the bubble wrap between discs. Which appears to have helped in this issue. Plus the new Jiffy bags which seems to have cleared up the paper particles on the discs.

We are looking at new types of cases which lock the DVDs down better during shipping, hopefully we will find a range of cases that meet your and our needs.

If anyone has a damaged disc that need replacement please email me postukandeurope@simply3dworld.com , please state your USERNAME, your REAL NAME and FULL POSTAL ADDRESS plus your MAIL ADDY. ALSO STATE CLEARLY WHICH DISC NEEDS REPLACEMENT.

EG:

TUBBY

DARREN MITCHELL
1234 ANY STREET
ANY TOWN
ANY STATE
ANY POSTCODE

ANY COUNTRY

McLaren Sportscar - Disc 2

etc.

I`m working on getting the kinks out of our mail and production systems. Any problems let me know and I`ll do my best to fix any issues, I`m quite an approachable guy

NOTE to freerange

E-mail me your replacement list and I`ll make sure they go out with your current orders.

NOTE to Graham Nichols

Sorry about the special delivery muck up, mail me and I`ll add some points to your account.
