Default Models as Particles?

Is there a way in lightwave to have the particles be .lwo models? for example flies or locusts.

Not the particles themselves, but you can link objects to the particles so they act as null objects.

I'm not sure how to do this, but there is a tutorial on the newtek site called 'Flock of Birds'. I'm almost certain you will find the answer in there.

It's in the FX_Linker. There you can assign objects to each particle of the emitter.
