Unhappy newbie, please help

Hi, I'm a newbie and I'm trying to build a guitar model but can't attach the songboard to the sides, please help

Can you post a wireframe so we can see exactly what your model consists of?

As I thought... It looks as though you've subpatched the polys around the side of the guitar body. However, since your soundboard consists of a single poly, you're not going to be able to attach this properly to the sub-d's.

Delete the soundboard poly, then select the points around the top edge of the guitar in a clockwise fashion. Now use the extender tool (on the multiply tab), then use the Size tool to shrink the polygons in toward the center.

Finally, complete the soundboard center by manually creating polygons.

In order to subpatch the entire surface, you'll probably need to knife along the edge of the guitar body near to where the soundboard attaches in order to get a nice sharp edge.
