got just few (lowres) photographs of that gun - no usable backgrounds... still some not-fully-smoothly-neighboring polygons, but thats what i still have to learn... just let me know if i'm walking the right path... thanks m8s

Your definatly on walking on the right path, that gun is far more advanced than the stuff I did after using LW for only 3 months.. actually I think I was still making lens flares then lol. Overall the gun looks great and it would do mighty fine if it were not a closeup shot.. some edges need to be sharpened up and so on but keep working with it and it will be awesome
![]() keep us posted Matt

I love that gun
![]() What method did you use to make that? I think one of the Mods should merge all four of your thread into one....

hey everybody involved!
4 DigiMatt - thx for merging :-) it was a typical newbie crap from my side..... and regarding your advices - about edge sharpening: i'm getting some strange results. what do you think about combination of subpatch+polygon model? isn't it too complicated? till now i have been modelling either in polygon or in subpatch mode, no combination. about the grip - i agree, remodelling is the only way; i guess i won't have other option if i don't wanna scrap this model... 4 bullet_evader - thx for your kind words, but i did not fully get what u meant with the back of the grip (handle)? as soon as i find out how to add IMGs in here i will show you the side view (the only picture i used as a bg in Modeler) 4 R4s1n - thx for your reply; i used pure "4 points make a polygon" method - placing, moving, subpatching. then i downloaded some cool plugins like POZextender and QuickSaw, it has made my work much easier and quicker... I will keep you posted, of course! Glad to be part of LW community.

you can quite easily mix subpatch and non-subpatch modelling with good results by using weights on the transitions.

I agree, with Digi,,, i love the modelling. Looks like you took some time to get the points adjusted and get the details. As to getting the half subpatch and half non subpatch,, here is how to start going about it. Turn off subpatch for the entire model, then select the part you want to subpatch, i am thinking the handle, then subpatch it, i know that this will leave holes in the model, just start to select the points and create the polys to patch it up. Nice work.

I think if you made the Upper Slide of the gun Chrome, it would look awesome
