I was looking at my glasses the other day, and I wondered, "How does my prescription relate to the refraction index in Lightwave???" Any ideas? In my specific case, my glasses prescription (what is this called/what is it measured in????) is
-3.50, but how do I find the refraction number that this relates to in Lightwave? Is there a real-world correlation? |

Generally, the refraction index of the lens in your glasses will be that of normal glass (can't think what this is off the top of my head, but there's a handy table in the back of Dan Ablans Simply Lightwave Books). The refraction index should be constant. The prescription value is a measure of the strength of the lens. This link should tell you all you need to know:
