Default Assault Dropship

Hey guys,

Thanks for the compliments and help with my first project. I've decided to start a new one and see if I cant do something a little more original.

Here are a few pictures of the basic model for an assault dropship design that I came up with.

Comments would be most welcome.

Hey guys,

Haven't had much free time to start adding detail to my dropship. But I've managed to add a bit. Here are some pics of the update.

The basic shapes on the rear of the dropship are going to be the rearward canopy for the gunner and the phalanx gatling gun I'm going to design for the back.

Hey all

Its been awhile since I got to get my hands on this model. I really want to finish it and was happy to get some progress in. I got the base texturing done and added a few bumpmaps. I need to do the diffuse maps and after doing some research will be definitely going back over the initial texture colors to dirty it up a little bit and give it a more used look.

I really need some comments to make sure I'm going in the right direction. If you have any comments please respond!

Cheers

a 3/4 view

The bumpmap on the side is a little deep and a test. I was going for a paneled side like a higgins boat from WWII so I could add dirt and grime based on the bumpmap.

I also want to tweak the properties of the shaders (they're the initial settings at the moment) and I need to work on the glass for the forward and reverse cockpit.

Last picture,

This is the inner door, for the loading and unloading of troops, supplies or whatever the dropship would be carrying. I need to redo the ram's texturing, I didn't leave myself enough room to texture the inside of the ram and I need to model it in its ready to fire position.

Thanks for the comment Johnny9ball. Its feels like such a slow process when you're stumbling about a new program. But its worth it when I'm learning so much. :attn:

Learning is half the fun next time instead of stumbling you will just be flying through your projects.

Here is the last series of images after the diffuse, bump, and color maps have been finished. Now onto creating the background image and lighting the scene.
