Default My new character

just finished him up about an hour ago, next up texture mapping and rigging.

Just saw the new videos out of rigging the caveman and animating him. I have the first two and thought they were great!

Love the character.
Are you going to rig him?

yes I plan to use weight maps and rig him. First I'm going to create the texture maps. That will probably be my next updated posting. he's going to have skin pores, freckles, liver spots, wrinkles and other extra detail.

great lookin guy, lots of character !
dunno if your familiar with the Asterix comics in the USA, but he kinda resembles one of the characters in those books a bit....
( a grumpy old fella )
It was one of the favorite comic series in my youth...
be sure to post texturing and rigging wip's, I'd love to see it progressing....

Time...well can't really say in hours, but on and off for a week and a half. Working on him for a couple hours and then maybe the next day for only an hour and 1/2. I'm sure we all know you can't really accomplish much in 1/2 hour or an hour. I do have to say though, the creative juices were flowing while working on this guy. He's really my first FULLY modeled character and there's still lots more till he's finished. If you have anymore q's feel free to ask.

The first one I tried a hair simulator. I think it looks pretty cool, but I'm going more for the cartoon feel. However, I might also do some renders of him with this style... we'll see.

The second, all texturing is finished for his clothes. I worked in all those interesting things like: sweat stains, dirt stains, little fish guts, faded fabric and a textured design for the fabric.

Third, is a close up of the detail of the shirt. I took 3 different photos I found online, put them together, then added a photo filter to them to look like an iron on.

Now on to doing the texture maps for the skin (color, pores, age spots, freckles, and wrinkles).

Once again, thank you all for your comments and suggestions.
