Default WOW

Thanks matt! That model looks sweet!. I'm speechless! I have noticed when I did my research on the USS Defiant. I have found so many deferent versions outer. It is so hard to fined the actual one from the Star
Trek DS9. I have taped many deferent shots from the TV Series, and close examination reviled that even there Defiant is deferent from one Episode to another.
Now, here is my question to you. How did you created the grooves in the model? Was that a Bump map? Or did you use some other technique. And how did you create the Warp Engine Glow? Please shear it with me if you don't mined.
My texturing/lightning skills suck.

Niall,

It's all bump maps.

The Defiant is a fairly smooth skinned ship, so why bother wasting polys by modelling.

Matt

You want to create said bump maps in black and white and as higher resolution as you can.

Most of the ones on the Defiant I have are around 3000x3000 or higher. Black and white maps use bugger all space so they work fine.

Email me and I';ll provide you with a link to the model.

regards
Matt

Default Ship

I never thought that Texturing is a such a pain in the ass process. It takes me a long time to get it done correctly.

There are many ways to texture an object, are you doing it with UV maps?

Nail,

I went back and redid the texturing. I managed to get someone to sample all the colours off the FI mesh.

so....

I'll send you all the colours you'll need if you like.

Default Final Texture

Ok. I know you all probably getting sick looking over and over the same thing, but I have finished massing around with the texture setup. I think I will use this texture as a Final. I would appreciate any comets and Suggestions from you. Need to know how to create Laser Blasts. Thanks all. I will post My Final Rendering soon.
