Haha surfer answered the questions before I ever even read them. And yes he is right. I am not sure if I will have room to add a aerodynamic shell. The fans start sticking straight up (for storage purposes) and then rotate down. This keeps me from being able to add anything to the top or sides.

wow, man. Great stuff- Though I'm pretty sure you're not noobish enough to be in this category :p nice work on the legs. If you can maintain that amount of detail all around you should be golden. keep up the good work.

Ok I decided to model the computers mainframe. I still need to add all of the little circuits inbetween the parts. Anyone know of a good way to do this? I mean using like a plugins or something cuz I don't want to manually go in and bevel out tons of little wires. I was thinking maybe splines and using rail extrude. Dunno. Anyway here is the first shot.

Here is the other shot of the mainframe. This really only took me 30 minutes to make. I just made some polys and beveled them like crazy! I still have alot ahead of me 4 this project. Here is my to do list:

This week: finish mainframe, do rough model of Rescue Pod.

Next Week: Finish Rescue Pod, Make Rescue pod arms and legs.

3rd Week: Finish modelling, Rig, Animate.

4th and 5th week: Have animation completely ready to render. Add any extras. Render Animation.

Final week: Composite all Animations together. Post Finals. Breath one gigantic sigh of relief

Definetly coming together! Awesome progress so far. I bet the polygons are adding up fast with all the detail you're adding

Ah I don't think I am near good enough for NORM yet. For example, look at Voice's and Funky Bunnie's entries. I don't think I am anywhere near good enough to do that kind of stuff. I am definately gonna stick with noob. If I do win noob however I will enter as norm all times after. I would rather win a noob entry first before going straight to norm. I mean I already have enough competition with metallicjet and I REALLY want to try and win a competition for SimplyLightwave. There have been so many SM winners lately I wanna remind em that it is the skill and time put into a project that makes it great, not the software you use. Not to say it isn't a nice piece of software. I am about to start trying to learn it so I can get good with it before college. Of course my main app will always be LightWave! Speaking of nice software have you guys seen Vue 5 Infinity? It is a standalone program that does simply OUTSTANDING looking natural landscapes. It can also handle BILLIONS of polygons. Yes I said BILLIONS! I just watched the trailer for the app and stood there with my jaw dropped. And it's only $299 if you are a student! With it's lightwave compatibility I might finally be able to do a full CG movie. Anyways I am getting a little off topic so I am gonna go model now. Cheers!

Haha. Well currently you are the other noob with the most done so far. I have a feeling Krull's entry will be tough competition. Yeah I have been using LightWave for eight months but I have always kinda tried to avoid modelling. And I have NEVER done IK but will have to for my hydraulics. Hopefully this competition will change that! Anyways best of luck to you.

I do agree on that you are more norm than noob. Tough, i feel like a noob. i got lightWave 4 years ago, but during 3years i dident do anything . hehe. The Scene editor still holds great mysteries for me

Your model is going great. Cant wait to se the finished one

Haha yes I have never used the scene editor except for once where I used the scale scene keys button to make an animation go in slow-motion.

No not even close if I stick with my schedule then I should be done in about 2 weeks. Maybe less depending on how much I get done this week.
