Default Augusts Challenge 2003!

Ok over at simplymaya we were debating what the topic for this month will be for a while. Sorry for the delay. Hopefully this month we will see some more competators with this topic! The topic is:

Mad Scientist's Labratory

Model the enviroment of a mad scientist's lab! From all the bottles to his creations that hes working on. You can take your imagination to extremes on this. Do things like finding out what the mad scientist's profession is and model instruments and machines that relate to it . I would personally go for more of a robotic scientists, builds machines .

Ok, now if you join either state that you are joining as a Noobie, or Normal entry and write like the following:

"July Challenge - Name - Noobie"
or
"July Challenge - Name - Normal"

Rules:
1. Texturing is allowed.
2. Wire frame shots must be presented at random times.
3. Various shots of the progress, throughout the whole challenge, at different angles.
4. Concept Drawing or Picture, to be presented (where possible).
5. Submit your stills at 640x480, for loading purposes.
6. Final render can be at any size you wish, and all artowork in the render has to of been made by yourself.
7. Finish by last day of month - Exact time not specified, just make sure its finished by this date.
8. Post your final render at whatever size within the "Final render - Noobie" or "Final render - Normal" threads, depending if you joined in the noob category or Normal category.
8. Everything in your final render has to be modelled by you during the challenge.
9. Have lots of fun and learn lots!

If you have any questions post them here, or PM me if its more private.

Hi Bolle, welcome to SimplyLightwave!

to answer your questions,

1) you yourself make the call if your a noobie or a normal user, you could say normal users have used lightwave for awhile or work professionally with it and noobie users are just that.. noobies (new to the program)

2) the prize is ofcourse the honor which is quite good itself, but you also recieve 5 points to download tutorials for

What 'under construction' thingy's are you refering to? :o

Happy waving! hope to see you in the challenge

Maybe the Simplylightwaver's are afraid of the SimplyMaya folks?

I'm not and I will be throwing my hat in for 2 reasons. #1 - I don't wear hats and it is a good way to get rid of it. #2 - I am going to take the winning points and use them to get Philip's special secret tutorial only available to challenge winners on how to make a realistic model of Playboy's Miss July.

I like the topic!
I would have loved to participate but I was on vacation till a couple days ago (without a computer). Oh well!

I would have probably made it cartoonish style though.
