Hi:
Can someone point me to a tutorial where I can make rain? I'm animating a sea storm and I need realistic rain. I'm using v5.6 (it's old, I know), but I can't find a good tutorial. Thank you. |

check out the FREE ocean storm tutorial right here on SimplyLightwave, I think (not 100% sure) that there is rain in it

Hi Matt:
I tried to download this tutorial, but I was cut off twice. 49 mb is kind of a large file to dl. Is there any other tutorials that you know of for v5.6 or higher? Thank you. |

Did you try downloading the file in smaller chunks using the option on the download page to do that?
It's just too great of a tutorial to pass up. Keep trying. |

Yes, Matt is correct there is a method for recreating rain in there. Should be just what you need.
IIRC it involves placing a scene foreground texture in place with a gradient to fade it towards the bottom of the frame. Then, simply animate the noise - presto - instant rain... |
