I think this site is great, one of the best lightwave sites out there. But I really hate this whole VIP point thing. I know the webhosting large files can be a little pricey but personaly this type of thing will drive me away from a site, I am not one to just give money to a great site that I don't know about(that was from the point of veiw of someone who just stumbled upon this site). Maybe a banner or two, yes a banner, i know they can be tacky and stuff but if the VIP thing is for money for hosting I would take a banner or two for free tutorials. If i think of anything else I'll write it!

disagree!!!!
as u said this is a great site. once u pay for it, it is even better. try buying a book and video from any place that sells them. u won't find anything nearly as close. this site has the best tutorials around, hands down no questions. we are lucky it isn't more $$ because they are really worth it. don't beileve me? spend $30 and try it out. -jonn |

Actually, I believe the whole paying money for content is pretty regular use now wherever you go.
![]() You are getting great tutorials, which come at a cost. I donīt believe the guys that take care of the site run a beneficiary organization. They need to keep the site online and as such are required to put a price on the content of the site. As per the banners, ... I think it looks pretty great without them. :p

Humm intresting point of view. May I suggest you try some of our free tutorials first. These turorials are free and fun you should learn a lot. They will give you a good idea of the quality of all our tutorials here.
http://simplylightwave.com/movie_pag...html?cat_id=23 Then you should go check out some 50$-60$ 60min Tutorial DVD's from someone else. The price of the tutorials here (per minute) is about 1/10th the price, and in my honest opinion they quality is much higher. Not everything in life is free. The people who run this site are offering very high quality learning video tutorials at around 1/10th the price of Anyone else. Its a real bargon because its very hard to find high quality teaching video tutorials that will take you through a project so throughly and completely with a great price. When it comes to advertisements the policy here is to run an ad free site. You might not agree with that but I rather enjoy no banners and popups. It is throughly refreshing to have such a clean ad free site that can deliver awsome Lightwave teaching at a price and quality that nearly nobody can beat. The simplysites.com are a gem on the internet for learning and you will be very hard pressed to find anything like them.

johnny9ball said it perfectly, if u are serious about lightwave this is the site for you. sorry if the price turns you away. you are missing out on som great info. the $50 bucks i have spent on this site so far has been worth every penny and then some! my only complaint with the site is it doesn't have the amount of info i want and would pay for yet. the site isn't even 1 year old right??? so it is getting there. i plan on investing atleast $100 more at this site. if i can save up the money on my college budget even getting a life time membership is something i would like to buy. but it all comes down to how many more tuts come out and how much i can save

I think simplylightwave is great. I visit here 1-3 times a day, and have done some of the free tutorials, and liked them.
I also appreciate no ads. It makes the site more credible I think. My problem with the VIP points is that there are tons of good free tutorials out there. I have three links in my favorites that have enough tutorials to last me 2 years. So in my mind, It's not that you are ripping people off; quite the contrary, but unless the VIP tutorials have much more to offer than the better of the scads of tutorials out there, I cannot justify it right now. I don't know what the perfect solution is but if anything comes to mind I will definately share it. |
