Default Jack Daniels Noob

I realize many people have done a jack daniels imitation from Philip's on Simply lightwave, but i wanted to do my own,,, I'm just a noob so rate it at a noob level

Check it out, and all the pros, well.....Please give advice

Initial thoughts...

- More transparency on both glass objects - both look a metallic now
- Better tabletop texture (the blue is too overpowering)
- Label on JD bottle looks a little squeezed
- The glass needs to be a little thinner walled (IMO)
- really experiement to find a good reflection map

Nice start to modeling this scene. Post updates plz.

Hey thats a good start!

The first thing that throws me out is the blurred background seem to be at a differnt angle to the table top? Then the blue table definitely doesnt work.

If you want to have the JD bottle as the main focus, then thats what should hit your eye first...

Also, the shot glass could do with some more detail, liquid or whatever but maybe a label on that would help? If you straighten up the camera and put the glass closer but switch on DOF and focus to the bottle that would be nicer... Check these ref pics out, notice the detail on the neck of the bottle.

I'm remoldeling the bottle exactly like the one in your pic, but im stuck

I cant figure out how to connect the neck to the base, check out this link
