nice work! there is some texture streching going on especially on the seats and the ground but otherwise it looks good

Yeah it takes a little while to make sense of projection, sizing and positioning. I would reccomend taking one surface (in modeler). Turning your perspective view on to texture (if you have enough RAM), and messing with the surface properties. I learned a lot that way.

Excellent first piece.
One thing you want to look at is the subpatching on the front wheel. Whilst the main surface is smoothed, the ends are not. Remember that only 3 and 4 point polys can be converted to subpatches, so take each of the end polygons and bevel them in until pretty close to the center then delete them and fill in the gap with manually created polygons. Great choice of subject matter for your first LW work. Now do Fred! Seriously though - this is a nice little car. I would think about putting the wooden core through the wheels to connect them up to the rest of the car.
